About RooferMatch
RooferMatch (roofermatchusa.com) is a referral service for homeowners who need roofing work. You tell us the job and the ZIP code, and we pass the request to one independent roofing company that has asked to receive work there.
What we are, and what we are not
We are not a roofing company: we employ no roofers, hold no contractor license, set no prices and answer for no one's work. We also make no claim that any company we send a request to is licensed, insured or bonded, so ask for the license number and check it with your state's licensing board before the work starts.
The company receiving your request pays us for it, and that is the whole business model. The how it works page walks through the details.
Why rules for your state come first
Roofing sits between state rules and local ones. States decide who needs a contractor license and which building code applies, and enforcement is left to the state, a county or a city depending on the address. A page that gets one of those wrong can cost a reader money, so each state is researched on its own.
The city pages use U.S. Census data for housing age and home value and point to the local office that enforces the code; where we could not find an answer, the page says so.
Why the cost ranges say estimate
We have not collected roofing company quotes, so each cost table opens with an estimated range from a model: published national cost ranges, adjusted by what roofing workers are paid in Michigan (federal wage data) and by permit fees from city schedules we could read. None of it is a price list or a quote, and the editorial policy explains how the estimates are built.
Editorial standards
Every guide lists its sources, and a fact we could not source is left out. Rules about permits and codes change, so check with your local building department and your state's licensing board before relying on any summary here. Read the editorial policy, and tell us if you find a mistake.
